Special Counsel

With more than 17 years of legal experience, Lindsay is a Special Counsel at Collective Family Law Group, practising exclusively in family law. Since his admission as a solicitor in April 2009, Lindsay has built a broad and dynamic practice, with a focus on guiding clients through complex family law matters with precision, empathy, and strength.

Lindsay completed his legal studies at the University of Queensland, where memories of the jacarandas in bloom still remind him of exam season and late nights on campus. His early legal career spanned a wide range of practice areas across Queensland’s state courts and federal jurisdictions, equipping him with the breadth of insight he now brings to his work in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

Over the years, Lindsay has represented clients in family law proceedings throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia. His experience includes instructing solicitor roles and appearances as a solicitor advocate in interim and final hearings. He has a proven ability to manage intricate parenting disputes and property settlements, having conducted hearings involving both high-conflict parenting matters and complex financial arrangements.

While Lindsay is a strong and experienced litigator, he is also a committed advocate for dispute resolution. He regularly assists clients in settling matters through mediation, negotiation, and roundtable conferences, always aiming to minimise the emotional and financial burden of litigation wherever possible. His practical expertise spans divorce applications, consent orders, binding financial agreements, binding child support agreements, and matters involving child protection and child support disputes.

Lindsay views legal documentation—such as Applications for Consent Orders or Binding Financial Agreements—not just as administrative tasks, but as opportunities for clients to take back control of their lives. He believes in helping families reach legally sound, future-focused outcomes without unnecessary court intervention.

Now based on the Gold Coast, Lindsay brings a grounded and compassionate approach to his practice, shaped by both his professional experience and personal life. A father and grandfather, the youngest of nine siblings, and an uncle to many, Lindsay deeply values the importance of the family unit. His goal is to support clients in navigating the challenges of separation and divorce in a manner that is fair, legally sound, and focused on the best interests of any children involved.

Beyond the legal realm, Lindsay once competed as a state-level Taekwondo medallist and instructor—skills that continue to inform his disciplined and resolute approach in the courtroom. Though he’s traded the uniform for a suit and tie, he brings the same tenacity and strategic mindset to his legal work. For Lindsay, family law is more than a profession—it is a vocation.
